xyGrib
The program xyGrib is used to open grib files and for weather forecasting.
XyGrib is a software that allows the user to select an area on the map and download GRIB files (meteorological data) from various weather forecasters - i.e. models - according to their own selected parameters in terms of atmospheric data and waves.
The program supports also the Greek language and is used to open/view Grib file and it can also be used to connect to a server and download the corresponding forecast files from the following models:
For example today on the 06/02/2021 we will select an area that shows Greece and we will choose the GFS model to download the Grib file with a forecast period of 4 days.
We can select the parameters from a menu that has the categories (Surface, Altitude, Waves) - from them we choose what we want to see e.g. The following parameters (picture below:)
(wind 10m, temperature 2m, isothermic 0 deg C, clouds, total precipitation, snow). The file was downloaded to our local PC and at the same time opened in the program environment
There are a number of options that the user can make and run the simulation according to the parameters that he had chosen.
